Laura Lexx and Pete Byrom Interview - Ink
And the only reason why I'm updating my blog now is because I have three more reviews in the offing, but I've encountered a bit of the old writers' block, so I'm avoiding them for the moment. It's good to write through writers' block, but it's difficult to be inspired to write three hundred-odd words on something you would describe in conversation as "alright".
In addition to the writing I've done a little networking (I handed out my business cards, woohoo!) and I've been tweeting about my experiences an awful lot. Charmingly, I've garnered a good few new followers since beginning at the fringe, and it feels nice that people think my thoughts are worth reading.
Also, I have had some progress on getting some writing gigs at home - after responding to a tweet, I've arranged a coffee with the editor of SO Brighton Hove, and I've also had a reply to my speculative email to the editor of Sussex Society Magazine, both of which are lovely glossy monthly lifestyle magazines based in Brighton, exactly the kind of writing I enjoy doing (no hard-hitting journalism for me! Give me interviews with artists any day!).
Soon I will be also covering a bunch of stuff for the Edinburgh Book Festival too, so I'll be extra busy. Hurray for keeping busy!
